God [is] faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
Note 8 at 1 Cor. 1:9: This is the same situation as described in verse 1(see note 2 at v. 1, p. 858). Fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ is not something that has yet to be obtained. It is ours right now. We can grow in our enjoyment of it, but the doors to fellowship with Jesus are wide open now.
