1 Corinthians 1:13
Previous Verse
1 Corinthians 1:13
Next Verse

Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

Note 7 at 1 Cor. 1:13: The very obvious answer to this question is no. Christ is not divided. Another way of saying this is, there is not more than one Christ. So, if these different groups are all claiming to be serving Christ and yet they are at odds with each other, obviously someone is wrong.

Likewise, today, all the different Christian groups claim to all be following Jesus but they are headed in different directions. This is not right. There is not a different Jesus for each group.

Anyone who supports the division in the body of Christ today would have to believe that Christ is divided or that there are different Christs to justify such a position. Since there is only one Christ Jesus, there should only be one body of Christ.

Note 8 at 1 Cor. 1:13: These three questions in this verse all have the emphatic answer of no! Paul did this to show the absurdity of these divisions among the Corinthian Christians. Jesus is the one who provided salvation for them. Why should they stop following Him and follow some man?
