But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
Note 8 at 1Co 1:24: There is no way to access the wisdom of God except through Jesus, because Jesus is the wisdom of God. Col 2:3 says, "In whom [Christ] are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (brackets mine). Until people receive Christ, they are always missing the crucial element that would give them true wisdom.
