But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Note 4 at 1 Cor. 2:9: This verse is often quoted to excuse ignorance about the things of God. However, Paul is not saying that. Instead, Paul is stating the impossibility of man understanding God's wisdom through their own mental ability. Those who don't love the Lord cannot tap into God's wisdom. But the Lord has made provision for those who love Him to receive this supernatural wisdom.

It takes a revelation from God which Paul goes on to explain in the next verse (see note 5 at v. 10, below). Every believer can access the wisdom of God through the revelation knowledge of the Holy Spirit (see note 1 at Lk. 2:26, p. 56; see note 9 at Jn. 6:45, p. 243).
