Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
Note 7 at 1 Cor. 2:12: In the previous verse, Paul had explained that the Holy Spirit is the only one who knows the deep things of God. Now he says we have received the Holy Spirit, therefore, we have free access to the wisdom of God.
