So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

Note 8 at 1Co 3:7: Paul was saying that God is the one who used Apollos and him to touch these Corinthians' lives, and God should get the glory--not the instrument He used. Just as a gardener does not deserve the credit for making flowers, Paul and Apollos did not deserve the credit for the miracles God did in the Corinthians' lives.
