1 Corinthians 3:7
Next Verse

So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

Note 8 at 1 Cor. 3:7: Paul is saying that God is the one who used Paul and Apollos to touch these Corinthians' lives, and God should get the glory, not the instrument He used. Just as a gardener does not deserve the credit for making flowers, so Paul and Apollos do not deserve the credit for the miracles God did in the Corinthians' lives.
