Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;
Note 13 at 1Co 3:21: Paul had "put down" man's wisdom so that the Corinthian believers would quit being divided over man's personalities and styles and would unite in their love of the truth. There was no reason for people to set their sights on a man when they had Jesus as their Savior. Jesus should be the focus.
Note 14 at 1Co 3:21: This sentence is saying that those who minister to us, as well as all material things, are our servants. We should not serve them. They are here to serve us.
Remember that Paul had been trying to stop the division among the believers in Corinth. This division had come because some people thought they should follow Paul, while others thought they should follow Apollos, and others, Cephas. Paul was putting them in remembrance that they were not here to serve the ministers, but that the ministers were there to serve them.
Why should they be pledging allegiance to people? They belonged to Christ, and He should be the only one that they followed.
