Distortion of values, so that great emphasis is placed on minor things while truly important matters are ignored, is always a sign of Satan's deception.

This same perversion of values is observable today. Many people passionately protest the destruction of habitat for the snail darter or the Spotted Owl while supporting the murder of over 1.4 million unborn children each year through abortion. This does not reflect God's priorities.
