And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.

Note 4 at 1 Cor. 5:2: It is interesting to note that the Corinthian believers were hotly debating who was the greatest teacher but they were indifferent towards this act of immorality in their midst. Distortion of values so that great emphasis is placed on minor things while truly important matters are ignored, is always a sign of Satan's deception.

This same perversion of values is observable today. Many people passionately protest the destruction of habitat for the California snail darter or the great white spotted owl while supporting the murder of over 1.4 million unborn children each year through abortion. This does not reflect God's priorities.
