1 Corinthians 7:10
Previous Verse
1 Corinthians 7:10
Next Verse

And unto the married I command, [yet] not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from [her] husband:

Note 12 at 1 Cor. 7:10: Verses 10-11 are not Paul's opinion. These are clear commands from the Lord voiced by Jesus during His earthly ministry (Mt. 5:32; 19:3-9; Mk. 10:2-12; Lk. 16:18).

Note 13 at 1 Cor. 7:10: The word "depart" as used here and in verses 11 and 15 are speaking of divorce. Verse 11 makes this clear when it says if she departs she must remain unmarried. Therefore, this departing was the equivalent of divorce.
