1 Corinthians 7:10
Previous Verse
1 Corinthians 7:10
Next Verse

And unto the married I command, [yet] not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from [her] husband:

Note 12 at 1Co 7:10: 1Co 7:10-11 is not Paul's opinion; these verses are clear commands from the Lord, voiced by Jesus during His earthly ministry (Mt 5:32, 19:3-9; Mr 10:2-12; and Lu 16:18).

Note 13 at 1Co 7:10: The word "depart," as used here and in 1Co 7:11 and 15, is speaking of divorce. 1Co 7:11 makes this clear when it says that if she departs, she must remain unmarried. Therefore, this departing is the equivalent of divorce.
