1 Corinthians 7:29
Next Verse

But this I say, brethren, the time [is] short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;

Note 6 at 1 Cor. 7:29: Paul isn't speaking about the time before the Lord's return as being short. He is speaking about our lifespan as being a short time to accomplish the work of the Lord (see ref. h at this verse). With this in mind, every person should live as though this is the last generation. Because for us it is the last generation. We have to do what we are going to do now.

Note 7 at 1 Cor. 7:29: In verses 29-31, Paul is saying that the time is short, the job is big and therefore, even those who are married need to increase their devotion to the things of God so that we can accomplish the task the Lord gave us of evangelizing this world.
