But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:

Note 12 at 1Co 7:32: No one can contest the fact that in order to have a good marriage, a person has to spend time and effort ministering to his or her mate. If children are involved, the commitment is even greater. One of the advantages of being single is being able to focus more attention on the Lord.
