But if any man love God, the same is known of him.

Note 6 at 1 Cor. 8:3: Relationship with God is the most important thing. Nothing supercedes this. If anyone's quest for knowledge leads them away from knowing God, then it would have been preferable for them to stay ignorant. What we know is not as important as who we know (speaking of the Lord). Our most important goal in life must be to love God and be known (i.e. accepted of Him).
