But if any man love God, the same is known of him.

Note 6 at 1Co 8:3: Relationship with God is the most important thing. Nothing supersedes this. If any quests for knowledge lead people away from knowing God, then it would have been preferable for them to stay ignorant. What people know is not as important as whom they know (speaking of the Lord). The most important goal in life must be to love God and be known (i.e., accepted of Him).
