But to us [there is but] one God, the Father, of whom [are] all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom [are] all things, and we by him.
Note 10 at 1 Cor. 8:6: Paul has just said there was "none other God but one" (see note 8 at v. 4). He now repeats this truth in the same verse where he speaks of Jesus being our Lord (see note 3 at Lk. 1:43, p. 44). It is certain from his statements that he didn't believe in two Gods. Yet Paul said very clearly in 1 Tim. 3:16 that "God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." This definitely referred to Jesus as being God, showing that Paul believed in one God manifest in more than one person.
