Note 3 at 1 Cor. 9:4: Paul is not speaking of just the ability to eat and drink. The context (vv. 6-18), makes it very clear that he is referring to taking money from those to whom he ministered. There were some instances when he did receive offerings from his converts, but in Corinth, Paul had refused to do so (see note 5 at v. 6).
