1 Corinthians 10:9
Next Verse

Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

Note 8 at 1 Cor. 10:9: Is this verse saying that the Israelites who came out of Egypt tempted Christ? If so, this is one more testimony to the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, referring specifically to Him existing before His virgin birth.

Scholars disagree on whether or not this verse is making this statement. Regardless of the meaning of this verse, the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ is well attested to in scripture (see ref. j at Jn. 20:28, p. 558).
