Let no man seek his own, but every man another's [wealth].

Note 2 at 1 Cor. 10:24: Paul's criteria for evaluating right and wrong went far beyond what was lawful for him personally. He weighed all his actions in the light of the effect his actions would have on other people (v. 33). This was denying himself and following Christ, an example which we are commanded to follow (1 Cor. 11:1). It is an ungodly attitude to live our lives without a sense of debt to others (Rom. 1:14).
