Let no man seek his own, but every man another's [wealth].
Note 2 at 1Co 10:24: Paul's criteria for evaluating right and wrong went far beyond what was lawful for him personally. He weighed all his actions in the light of the effect they would have on other people (1Co 10:33). This was denying himself and following Christ, an example that we are commanded to follow (1Co 11:1). It is an ungodly attitude to live our lives without a sense of debt to others (Ro 1:14).
