1 Corinthians 11:6
Next Verse

For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

Note 6 at 1Co 11:6: In Paul's culture, it was shameful for a woman to appear in public without a veil or covering. It was even more shameful for a woman to appear with her head completely shaved. Only prostitutes and slaves would appear like that. The woman's dress spoke of her morality in those days, just as certain ways of dressing make a statement today.
