Note 9 at 1 Cor. 11:8: Paul is continuing to establish that the husband has the greater authority in marriage as the symbolism behind why women cover their heads in prayer.

Adam existed without Eve, but Eve never existed without Adam. The husband has more authority than the wife because man existed first and the woman came from man, not man from the woman. This is the order that God established.
