Next Verse

For our comely [parts] have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that [part] which lacked:

Note 9 at 1 Cor. 12:24: The Greek word "sugkerannumi," that was translated "tempered" here, means "to commingle, i.e. to combine or assimilate." In the same way that the Lord combined all our different body parts into one physical body with all parts interdependent on each other, so He has combined all true believers into His one body of Christ. For Christians to forsake other members of Christ's body would be like an individual amputating part of his body.

Note 10 at 1 Cor. 12:24: The mentality of the world is "the spoil belongs to the strong." Most people prey on the weak. But the Lord wants us to pray for the weak. We should seek out the weak and help them become strong in the Lord.
