1 Corinthians 12:25
Next Verse

That there should be no schism in the body; but [that] the members should have the same care one for another.

Note 11 at 1 Cor. 12:25: The word "schism" means "division." There is not supposed to be any division in the body of Christ. This is the theme with which Paul started this letter (see notes 1 and 2 at 1 Cor. 1:10, p. 860).

Note 12 at 1 Cor. 12:25: The admonition that Jesus gave us to love our enemies and those that hate us (Mt. 5:44) applies to our family in the Lord, too. We should love other members of Christ's body just as we love each member of our own bodies (Eph. 5:28-30).
