Next Verse

And though I have [the gift of] prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

Note 4 at 1Co 13:2: In 1Co 13:1-2, Paul mentioned three of the spiritual gifts he had spoken of in 1Co 12 (i.e., speaking in tongues, prophecy, and faith). In 1Co 13:3, he spoke of the gift of giving, which he listed as a spiritual gift in Ro 12:8. Once again, this underscores the fact that the nine gifts of the Spirit listed in 1Co 12 are not all of the spiritual gifts (see note 16 at 1Co 12:8).
