And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
Note 23 at 1 Cor. 14:35: The command for the women to be under obedience (v. 34) implies that the object of their obedience is to be their husbands (v. 35). It might be better stated by saying, "the women must be submissive to their own husbands."
