1 Corinthians 15:34
Previous Verse
1 Corinthians 15:34
Next Verse

Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak [this] to your shame.

Note 10 at 1 Cor. 15:34: In context, focusing on righteousness instead of evil will keep us from being led into sin (see note 6 at v. 33). You can't be tempted with what you don't think about (see note 5 at Rom. 16:19, p. 852). Paul is continuing the thought that he began in the previous verse concerning withdrawal from evil associations. Of course, it's obvious that not everyone has the knowledge of God or lives a godly lifestyle. Paul is speaking this sarcastically to shame the Corinthians, who had allowed this ungodly doctrine that denied the resurrection to corrupt them.
