For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
Note 4 at 1 Th. 4:14: As surely as Jesus died and rose again, those who die in Christ will return with Him when He comes again. That's assurance!
Note 5 at 1 Th. 4:14: The word "sleep" is referring to the Christians who had died (see notes 9-10 at Jn. 11:12, 14, p. 367). Paul is saying all the true believers in Christ who have already died will return with Jesus when He comes (see ref. b at v. 13).
