1 Timothy 1:14
Next Verse

And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

Note 7 at 1 Tim. 1:14: The grace of Jesus which was extended to the Apostle Paul was exceedingly abundant. The verb HUPERPLEONAZO from which "exceeding abundant" was translated, is only used once in the New Testament. It literally means "to be exceedingly abundant, to possess in excess, and to overflow" (Thayer's Greek Lexicon). Therefore, the Apostle Paul received God's grace in abundance accompanied by faith and love.

Note 8 at 1 Tim. 1:14: The Lord doesn't just extend mercy to us which delivers us from the just consequences of our actions. He also extends faith to us which allows us to appropriate God's great love for us and all the benefits that love has provided. Praise the Lord!
