For this [is] good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

Note 8 at 1 Tim. 2:3: The types of prayer that Paul just urged the people to pray, were good and acceptable to God. More specifically, prayers that influence governments, to produce favorable conditions to preach of the Gospel, are good and acceptable to the Lord. Why? Because the next verse says that He wills that all men be saved.
