For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Note 12 at 1 Tim. 2:5: In context, the point that Paul is making is that the Lord desires for all men to be saved through Jesus (v. 4). His statement in verse five, about one God and one mediator between God and men, strengthens this point. There are no other Gods than our one true God, and there is no other way to our Father except through Jesus (Jn. 14:6). Therefore, we must not exempt anyone from our witnessing. There is no other way for them to be saved (Acts 4:12).
