For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

Note 15 at 1 Tim. 4:5: This verse says that praying the Word of God over our food sanctifies it: This includes all food. That is not to say that there is not some wisdom to use in eating the right foods. The emphasis we see today on all the health foods is certainly out of balance. For one thing, all the opinions on what food is-good and bad, change constantly. There is no "thus saith the Lord" on what foods we should eat.

If we spent as much time praying over our food and studying God's Word about health, as we do studying what foods and vitamins are good, we would be a lot better off. The attitude we receive our food with, is more important that what we eat.
