Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace [be] with thee. Amen.

Note 12 at 1 Tim. 6:21: There were some people who had departed from the knowledge of God's Word and had become entangled in all the hot debates of the day. Paul said they had erred from the truth. The devil doesn't have to get us to turn around and head in the opposite direction to destroy us. Just a small deviation from the proper path will eventually lead us into error.

A runner has to stay in his lane. Even a misdirection of one degree from the right course will eventually take him off the course as he continues to run, and will disqualify him. Likewise, we cannot deviate from the preaching of God's Word. Weird doctrines and theories will come and go, but the truths of God's Word are eternal.
