2 Corinthians 1:15
Next Verse

And in this confidence I was minded to come unto you before, that ye might have a second benefit;

Note 5 at 2 Cor. 1:15: Paul had mentioned three times in his previous letter to the Corinthians that he was planning on visiting them again (1 Cor. 4:19; 11:34; 16:5-7). This is what he is referring to here.

Note 6 at 2 Cor. 1:15: Those with a false humility would not make as bold a statement as Paul made here. But Paul knew who he was and the anointing of God that was upon him. He knew they would benefit by his coming to them (see note 7 at Rom. 15:29, p. 847). This wasn't pride. This was the truth. If we don't have faith in God's ability in us, nobody else should, either.
