For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.
Note 8 at 2 Cor. 2:9: Paul is now referring to the letter that he had mentioned in verses 3-4. He wrote the Corinthians partly as a test, to see if they fully accepted his authority and instructions.
