Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:

Note 10 at 2 Cor. 3:12: The Greek noun "elpis" (hope) is used in this context to mean, "the joyful and confident expectation of eternal salvation" (Thayer). Because of the superiority of the new covenant and all its benefits over those of the old covenant, Paul uses great plainness, i.e. boldness in bringing its message. The "stakes" are so high that he must make sure everyone clearly understands the gospel.
