2 Corinthians 9:13
Next Verse

Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for [your] liberal distribution unto them, and unto all [men];

Note 19 at 2 Cor. 9:13: This is the only time in the New Testament that the Greek word "dokime" was translated "experiment." It was translated "proof" 3 times (2 Cor. 2:9; 13:3; Phil. 2:22); "experience" twice (Rom. 5:4); "trial" once (2 Cor. 8:2); and "experiment" once (here). It is speaking about the action, not just the talk, of the Corinthians' giving. Our actions are what people respond to. The Lord looks on the motives of the heart (1 Sam. 16:7).
