For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles.

Note 10 at 2 Cor. 11:5: This is not pride on Paul's part. He has already made it clear that this is not his usual way of defending himself. He is boasting like a lost man would (see note 2 at v. 1, p. 1033). This is just a statement of fact. It would be pride on Paul's part to ignore the obvious just to walk in some "psuedo-humility."
