That which I speak, I speak [it] not after the Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of boasting.

Note 2 at 2 Cor. 11:17: Paul is going to compare his external qualifications with those of the false apostles. From a human point of view Paul's credentials were exquisite. This is not a godly way of reasoning. This is carnal, the way the Corinthians had been thinking. The Corinthians' preoccupation with external qualifications had forced him to this comparison (2 Cor. 12:11).
