2 Corinthians 12:1
Next Verse

It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.

Note 1 at 2 Cor. 12:1: The dictionary defines "expedient" as "appropriate to a particular purpose." The Greek word that was translated "expedient" here means "advantageous." Paul is saying, "Without a doubt, it is not to my advantage or it serves no particular purpose, for me to continue boasting."

Note 2 at 2 Cor. 12:1: Visions and revelations were not uncommon experiences to Paul. He had experienced them in the past and he knew they would continue to come. These things come from God and cannot be manufactured, but when a person is seeking God with his whole heart, the Lord will manifest Himself to him.
