2 Thessalonians 1:10
Next Verse

When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

Note 11 at 2 Th. 1:10: This is the only time in scripture that the Greek word THAUMAZO was translated "admired." This same word was translated "marveled" 21 times (Mt. 8:10, 27; 9:8, 33; 21:20; 22:22; 27:14; Mk. 6:6; 12:17; 15:5; 44; Lk. 1:21, 63; 2:33; 7:9; 11:38; 20:26; Jn. 4:27; 7:15; Acts 2:7; 4:13). The word literally means "to wonder; by implication, to admire" (Strong).

Note 12 at 2 Th. 1:10: There is a wonderful contrast between the terrible punishment for the unbelievers on the day of the Lord's return (see note 10 at v. 9) and the tremendous joy of the faithful.
