2 Thessalonians 3:5
Next Verse

And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

Note 8 at 2 Th. 3:5: Love and patience are two of the most important Christian virtues (see ref.e at this v.). Yet the God kind of love and patience are far beyond our human ability to achieve. God must direct our hearts into these things. As Paul put it in Philippians 2:13, "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." Not only must God do everything through us, He also makes us willing, or directs our hearts as Paul says here.
