Previous Verse
2 Timothy 3:14
Next Verse

But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned [them];

Note 14 at 2 Tim. 3:14: We often stress in the beginning a commitment to the Lord. It is true that everyone has to have a start. But scripture stresses not only the beginning but the continuation of our commitment to the Lord. See the references on the word "continue" in this verse.

Note 15 at 2 Tim. 3:14: Paul was Timothy's father in the faith (1 Tim. 1:2) or what we would call a mentor today. He is saying, "remember that I am the one that taught you." Paul knew that what he had discipled Timothy in had worked for him and it would work for Timothy too if he would believe it and apply it.
