And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
Note 4 at Acts 2:3: This was both a visible and audible supernatural manifestation of the Holy Ghost in addition to the gift of speaking in tongues that accompanied this baptism. Only one other time (Acts 4:31) was there a similar experience with the coming of the Holy Spirit.
