Acts 2:22
Previous Verse
Acts 2:22
Next Verse

Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

Note 8 at Acts 2:22: The Greek word translated "approved" in this verse is "apodeiknumi," which means to demonstrate, accredit, approve, set forth, shew.

In this instance, Peter is saying that God bore witness to the authenticity of who Jesus was by the miracles which He performed through Him. If Jesus needed the miraculous power of God to bear witness to His words, then how much more do we. Miracles and wonders are important to true evangelism.
