Acts 2:32
Previous Verse
Acts 2:32
Next Verse

This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

Note 17 at Acts 2:32: Peter under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, very beautifully explains Old Testament scripture and uses it to verify what they had witnessed. This provided an irresistible argument to those who were truly seeking the truth and the results were 3,000 conversions to the belief that Jesus was God and has redeemed us by His blood.

We cannot base our witness on experience only, but the Lord doesn't want us to base it on the Word only either. Acts 1:8 commissions us to be witnesses of what the Lord has done for us. In Acts 4:29-30, the disciples prayed that the Lord would speak His word through them by healings, signs, and wonders. Mark 16:20 shows that the Lord works with the true preaching of His Word to confirm it with signs and wonders.

Paul said that his preaching, "was not with enticing words of men's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power. . ." (1 Cor. 2:4). He also said, "the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power" (1 Cor. 4:20). The lost world needs to see as well as hear about the power of God to save.
