Acts 3:12
Previous Verse
Acts 3:12
Next Verse

And when Peter saw [it], he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

Note 1 at Acts 3:12: The miraculous intervention of God should always bless us but it should not surprise us. God never intended for man to live independent of Him and His miraculous power. That was man's choice. When a person comes back into relationship with the Lord through the new birth, he should expect to see the supernatural power of God manifest in his everyday life to such a degree that he could say with Peter, "why marvel ye at this?" Any perspective other than this reveals a hard heart (see note 10 at Mk. 6:52, p. 238).
