Note 3 at Acts 3:14: As on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:23), Peter takes the opportunity to convict these men of their guilt in the crucifixion of Jesus. No one can come to Jesus until he is convicted of his sin. Jesus came to save sinners (1 Tim. 1:15). Only sinners can be saved. The first step in seeing a person born again is to get him to see his sinfulness and total helplessness to save himself.
