Acts 7:35
Previous Verse
Acts 7:35
Next Verse

This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send [to be] a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush.

Note 13 at Ac 7:35: No doubt, one of the reasons Stephen was emphasizing Moses' rejection was to draw a comparison between Moses and Jesus. In Ac 7:37, Stephen even quoted Moses from De 18:15, where Moses prophesied that the Messiah would be like unto himself. The Israelites rejected Moses, yet God exalted him to become their ruler and judge. Likewise, Jesus was rejected by the Jews, but God exalted Him to be both Lord and Christ (Ac 2:36).
