Acts 8:16
Previous Verse
Acts 8:16
Next Verse

(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

Note 3 at Ac 8:16: This is one of the clearest examples in the book of Acts that the born-again experience and the receiving of the Holy Ghost are two separate experiences (see note 6 at Ac 2:4). These people were already believers or else Philip would not have baptized them (Ac 8:36-37), yet they had not received the power of the Holy Ghost.
