Acts 8:20
Previous Verse
Acts 8:20
Next Verse

But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.

Note 3 at Acts 8:20: The spiritual blessings of God cannot be bought with money. This should forever settle any question that anyone might have about buying indulgences, such as praying people out of purgatory (see note 6 at Lk. 16:26, p. 361), buying red or green strings to produce prosperity and healing, etc. The power of God cannot be bought. Anyone who says otherwise, does not have his heart right with God (v. 21).
