And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.
Note 1 at Acts 9:43: This Simon is only mentioned in scripture in connection with Peter staying in his house (here; Acts 10:6, 17, 32). A tanner was considered an unclean person by the Jews because he handled dead bodies.
