And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

Note 3 at Ac 10:10: Trances are when people are so dominated by the Spirit of God that their minds are not functioning in their normal states but are seeing, hearing, and thinking only on the divine images and messages being given to them by God. It is very clear, from this verse and Ac 10:19, that trances and visions are the same things (see note 2 at Ac 9:10).
