And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

Note 3 at Acts 10:10: A trance is when a person is so dominated by the Spirit of God that his mind is not functioning in its normal state but is seeing, hearing, and thinking only on the divine images and messages being given to him by God. It is very clear, from this account of Peter's vision and verse 19, that a trance and a vision are the same thing (see note 2 at Acts 9:10, p. 623).
