Acts 11:17
Next Verse

Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as [he did] unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

Note 4 at Ac 11:17: The baptism of the Holy Ghost was used by Peter as a proof of salvation. Jesus had said that the world (lost) cannot receive the Holy Ghost (Joh 14:17); therefore, Peter is arguing that anyone who receives the Holy Ghost must be born again.
